Looking at Shayla Hunter’s work is like capturing your best childhood memories. The people are unposed -- just relaxed and drenched with feeling. It makes you believe that small actions are enormous (little smiles become monumental) and that the ideal is simple and heart-felt and caught off-guard.

Shayla has a BFA in Photography from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County completed in 2001. She has lived in New York for the last 8 years and has trained her eye as a photo editor at Vogue, W, Budget Travel magazine, and the online edition of Gourmet magazine. She relishes food, friends, animals and travel.
